Financial Planning Analyst

We have an opening for a candidate to join our financial planning and wealth management team in our Boston office. This is a multi-year program with the opportunity to transition into an Advisor role. This transition is self-paced and dependent on completing the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation, in addition to excellent performance in the role.

The Financial Planning Analyst will contribute to the firm through financial planning work: writing summaries and plans, crafting investment takeover proposals, designing insurance strategies, and contributing to client meetings. As knowledge and experience grow, duties will move towards an Advisor’s: beginning business development and leading client meetings. Successful analysts will have the opportunity to transition to Advisors. 
 
The future hired candidate is expected to become investment and insurance licensed (passing FINRA's Series 7, 63 and SIE exams as well as the Life and Health Insurance exams) prior to joining Civic Financial.

Job Duties:

  • Synthesize client goals, values, and circumstances to create thoughtful, personalized planning recommendations
    • Participate in client meetings with Partners to take notes and ownership of communicating follow up to the planning team
    • Work in conjunction with planning team to write recommendations, model financial projections, and produce integrated financial plans for Partner review
    • As expertise grows, lead follow up or introductory meetings for less complex clients
    • Collaborate with the operations team for onboarding new clients, assisting with insurance cases, and supporting the general business needs

Financial Analyst Intern

We have an opening for a candidate to join our financial planning and wealth management team in our Boston office. This is a ten-week intensive summer internship program, broken up into four focus areas – investments, insurance, planning, and business development. Additionally, candidates will be expected to pass the FINRA Life and Health, Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 63 exams before the internship commences. Responsibilities may include investment takeover proposals and implementation, financial planning work, insurance integration, and/or client facing work as a secondary advisor, depending on the candidate’s background.

Analyst Intern Focus Areas:

  • Investments: assist with portfolio strategy, rebalancing accounts, harvesting losses, investing cash
    • Collaborate with the operations team to onboard new clients
  • Insurance: evaluate client insurance needs and build plans to protect risk and grow long-term assets
    • Learn insurance design and integration with tax strategy
  • Financial planning: write financial plans for clients in conjunction with planning team and Partners
    • Design and run financial projections; prepare financial planning summaries for client meetings
  • Business development: identifying new prospect
    • Arranging meetings between self-sourced prospects and the Partners of the firm
